THE TICK (ACARI, IXODIDAE) FAUNA OF THE STAVROPOL REGION AND THE ROLE OF DIFFERENT SPECIES IN TRANSMISSION OF NATURAL FOCUS INFECTIONS

The existence of natural foci of various diseases of humans, domestic and wild animals is associated with ticks on the territory of the Stavropol region. In this paper, ticks species diversity, their parasite host relations and the significance of various types of ticks in transmitting pathogens of especially dangerous infections in the study area are considered. A review of the available literature and research by the author showed that within the Stavropol region there were 29 species of ticks.
